First interview: CHINA
Interviewee: Bingzhe
Interviewer:Loris
Although it is my first time interviewing someone, i had to be prepared. For that, we planned to meet in Miller center on Sunday at 2pm; i chose in library because i didn't want to be in place very calm which will make me uncomfortable. The first ten minutes, i just spoke with my interviewee to know a litlle bit each other before to begin the interview. As i and Bingzhe were talking, i began to get into the interview by questioning him without to be suddenly out of the subject. It was not really long, we spent on each question about 5minutes.
Throughout the interview, i was impressed of how chinese live especially the education which are given to them because it can be really related to the education we received in my country. Therefore, during the interview, we were using sometimes google translate which help us a lot by explaining some words it was not easy to understand. Moreover, my interviewee gave me some examples throughout the interview which was interresting as it was actually really helpful. In general, we discussed with couples questions about the history of China, culture, region and religion.
Bingzhe is an international student from China in the city called Nanjing. Even though chinese have some best college, Bingzhe chose to come in Saint Cloud State from the help of a compagny which expose different colleges for students who want to go to study abroad, and because it is cheap. However,it is more about how it is hard to do the competition because everyone do hardwork to enter in those Nanjing's college. As something most important for chinese, Bingzhe planned to go back to China one done with school.
Proud of his country, Bingzhe has a big respect of China after all the stories his country has been through. About 400years, China had several war which was countries who want their lands such as Russia, but usually they were hitted back. This experience gave to the chinese a lot strengh by controling all their lands across the country, and making strict rules for avoid the penetration of the enemies. Due to many provinces, China has his own language but the accent differe by province. Nevertheless, their traditional food is called "Dumpling" and "Noodles". Mostly, noodles are eaten in north of China while in south of China they eat more rice. Chinese have a traditional festival which is their New Year, and it depends on what they called "calculator lumar". Farmers used the calculator date to determine when it will be the moon so that they can reap, and then celebrate;it is usually at the end of January or the begining or February, and they can have two birthday in one year!how they are lucky! As festival, chinese have five such as spring festival, mid-autumn festival, tomb-sweeping day, the double ninth festival and dragon boat festival. For the wedding celebration, chinese does that in three process when the husband go to take her wife where she lives with presents, the wedding day when everyone can give them money to help for the preparation, friends and families will go to visite them at their new house. Confucianism related to a culture, but it is more a religion which consist on saying what chinese can do or not. They mostly believe in what he said because chinese think it is true. As two others religions, chinese have Buddhism from India and Taoism from China which had an important idea on keeping balance between Human and Nature. Regarding to their political system, China has only one party called Communist party; the party control the entire country. During the election, whoever the chinese chose, there are 10 people in government who are charged to nominate who will be the president everytime from the communist party. At the end, Bingzhe added he doesn't really care who will be president in time the country will continue to grow up.

Interviewing an International Student
From different countries around the world, as an international student who interview another international student, it is challenging. Due to the different culture or lifestyle, the difficult thing during an interview will be to make an approach with the person. However, this experience can be beneficial in the way that the interviewer will be no longer nervous about doing any interview with a person from another country.
Even if before the interview, the interviewer can challenge a hard time to find someone who will accept to be interviewed. Most of time, the first fifteen minutes are essential to help you either the interviewer or the interviewer to know each other.Culture has to be consider because it's differ from country. For example, when you talking to someone in U.S.,eye contact are really improtant while most in some Africa countries like Burundi where i am from;it can seem as a sign of disrespectful when you talk to someone older than you. Body-language can be facing when trying to approach each other. As the pression is not anymore there, the interviewer should begin by including his own question. Therefore, the accent of English has a big role during the interview which make uncomfortable each of them.
Although the english can be a problem, that is the one of the hard challenge and the best benefit for the interview. In other words, it will improve the way of pronouncing the english for either the interviewer or the interviewee. As long as the interview will continue in good term, it shows how the interviewer get used to the interview.Usually,as an international student when interviewing another person;i feel after the first interview there is anything nervous the interviewer will be afraid about of.After the interview, the interviewer has more confidence to main another interview without fear.
For an interview, it is really undeniable to know each other with the person you are interviewing, so that they can know the point of view of each one. This will be helpful to know what can be offensive for the interviewee, and doing a good interview.
My interview objectives and core questions
As undeniable, the interview will help to know more about those Two countries which are China and Germany and moreover Burundi where i am from. However, i am little bit excited and nervous for this experience of interviewing people because it will be my first time.
My objectives of this interview:
- To know better my interviewee
- Avoid to stress the interviewee with many questions
- Talk a little bit about me
- Get more informations as possible about culture, religion and education
- Make a camparison the difference between my country and those countries
- Could you tell me about yourself?(your name, home country)
- Why did you choose to study at St.cloud University?
- What are you planning to do after school?
- Can you tell me about activities that young people like to do in your country?
- Would you like to tell me about your country?
- What is your traditional food?
- Could you tell me about your country's traditional process ragarding marriage?
- What are your country's major religions?
- What’s considered offensive in your country?
- How is the political system of your country structured?
- Is there anything you would like to add before we end our interview?
- Do you have any questions for me, now that I have had
the pleasure of asking you about so many things.

Report Three countries
My first country is Burundi.I wanted to do a presentation about my own country because i thought my classmate could be more informed by telling them a littlle bit about it.Most of the time, people say where they are from but we don't know even a little about that country.
My second country i chose to talk about is Germany.Back in the time, during the colon's years, our country Burundi used to be colonized by German. That is why i want to include Germany in my presentation because it has a part of story in our Country.
My third country will be China. This is the best opportunity for me to know more about China which a really big country with a long story.China helps us a lot in our country for many thing. It will give me more perspective of how i know China.

First

Tullis Yoder who by losing two fingers in his first bull ride thought he will
never have a chance to top another bull. His thirteen horses were about to be
slaughtered for dog food; he steal his rodeo horses. “No malice. Only merriment
as they nipped and nuzzled one another” (on page 15).
The
author Peck, Robert Newton is an author of more than sixty books. Raised on a
farm, he is familiar with cattle, hogs, and horses.
Second
book: My classmate Bingxhe Xu (http://en191f12s28bingzhe.blogspot.com/ ) had
that book “The Rise of Modern China” which is about how Chinese history have
been a turbulent era in which domestic and foreign forces interacted to
transform the Confucian universal empire into a modern national state. “While
no consensus has been reached, there seems to be some tentative agreement among
a majority of them on the question of periodization”(on page 15).
The
author Immanuel C. Y. HSU is deeply grateful to many of his former professors
at Harvard who taught him the historical discipline.
Third
book: Ouedraogo Jonathan, T ( http://en191f12s28jonaou.blogspot.com/ ) gave me that
book “How to talk Minnesotan” which actually is really interesting for people
from other country; it gave us an overview of how people talk here with their culture.
On page 15, they showed us how barbecue is prepared ”Many cooks substitute
pickled herring for the hamburger and use cream of mushroom soup instead of
Cheese Whiz as a topping”.
The
author Howard Mohr had the idea to write this book for people who will visit
this state, so that they don’t feel strange.
Fourth
book: The book which Hassan Rabaan (http://en191f12s28rabaan.blogspot.com/ ) gave
me is “Greek & Roman Mythology A to Z”. It is about The Mythology from that
time when Greek & Roman existed by how the world was formed? Such as mountains,
weather etc. On page 15, they talk about the name of the Argonauts:”Names of
the Argonauts Many different names have been included in the muster roll of the
Argo, the ship sailed by Jason in his quest for the Golden Fleece”.
The
author Kathleen N. Daly is a writer and consulting editor who has written more
than 100 books for young readers. She holds an M.A. from the University of
Glasgow.
Fifth book: “The development of Nigerian foreign
Policy” is the book that Shonibare,
Abigeal M ( http://shonibaremas19902802.blogspot.com/ ) gave me which is about how Nigerian does not have a foreign
policy years’ back ago. “But it would be wrong to assume that Nigerian
political parties, at the beginning of the election campaign, had definitely
formulated policies for the nation to follow in world affairs” (on page 15).

We are in the Library-let's use it
1.
The book seems to me to be really interesting in
terms that I want to know how and why U.S. brought their economic policy
throughout Africa?
2.
Writing by Herbst, Jeffrey Ira; the book has one
author.
3.
The title of the book I chose is “U.S. Economic
Policy Toward Africa”
4.
The book was printed by COUNCIL ON FOREIGN
RELATIONS PRESS and was published in the United States of America.
5.
the city where the book was printed is in New
York 1992
Step2:
In the library,
I just saw that book which took all my attention by title “U.S. Economic Policy
Toward Africa”. American aid had been mostly the strategic action to rebuild
the economy of Africa. However, the policies of U.S. Economy were not really
approved. Those countries began to think about the industrialization, but they
argued “scarce resources will tend to be misdirected into parallel and over
lapping investments; and the possibilities of attracting private capital from
abroad will be reduced”; They do not wanted American policy because it will not
promote regional economic so that it can expand for large markets.
