Most of you will ask you why did i choose to talk of my own country in this second interview; It is a such good opportunity for me to share more about where i am from.I take of this interview a chance of showing where is located my country, about our culture and religion.

First,i had to find the right person from my country who should be able to answer all my 12 questions i came up. I was more exicted than furious this time. I knew i will be interviewing someone i know well which will be a little bit funny.
Secondly when found my interviewee, i began to think where and what time we should meet and how i will process to begin my interview. I had also developped some objectives which i had to achieve after the interview.


How did you approach people

My interviewee is more informed about Burundi. I wanted to find someone who have enough knowledge about my country. For that, i sent an email with some more explanation about the interview to every Burudian asking who feel able to make it. After receiving a feedback from one of them, we scheduled what time and the place we will meet.


When,Where, and How did you Conduct the interview

The second interview was with Bill M. who is from Burundi the same city as mine. We met Saturday in library second floor at 2pm. I came earlier about 5 minutes before to be prepared for the interview. Library was the perfect place because it was comfortable for each of us to talk.

I interviewed Bill M., he is burudian as well and his major is Finance.

Describe the interview

The interview went very well. As we were in the middle of the interview, we sometime make some jokes to relax and continue. It was a pretty good interview better than the first as i noticed it.My interviewee gave me enough informations about the questions i was asking him.Bill tried to use a vocabulary i can understand during the interview.I was not really surprised because much of things were accurate as i know.However, there is some answers i didn't have any idea;he pretty know a lot thing.

Country Report

Burundi also called "Heart of Africa" is a country in central of Africa, capital called Bujumbura, border by Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Tanzania.Having a population of 10,557,259, Kirundi is the native language but French and Swahili is spoken too. About 67% of people are Christian and there are few muslim and indigenous beliefs.With an equatorial season, it is more sunny the whole year. Most of the people live of agriculture which is the main field helping the economy growing up including coffee, cotton, tea, corn, sorghum, sweet potatoes, bananas, cassava (manioc); beef, milk, hides. Fishing is also practised a lot in Lake Tanganyika which is the second largest freshwater lake in the world by volume(4,823feet) and the second deepest(1,470m) after Lake Baikal in Siberia.







            "Assassinated on October 13th 1961 by his opponents with pro-Belgian Christian Democratic Party and people from the opposite party who didn't want immediate independance" hero of the nation Prince Louis Rwagasore with his party brought the country to the independance in July 1st 1962.After his assassination, the country had some tension between the two ethnic Tutsi and Hutu. However, there is another ethnic called Twa about 1% of the population.In october 21th 1993, "the first democratically elected president Melchior Ndadaye was assassinatted after some days passed in his office"; the country faced a civil war genocide till 2003 caused by ethnic violence between Hutu and Tutsi;It killed about 300 000 burudians.Many people were moved from their homes to neighbour countries. "The agreement of power-sharing between Tutsi-dominated government and the Hutu rebels in 2003 brought the country in peace.".

As traditional food, burudians prepare this food called "Cassava Dough" which is made with flour of manioc and water. Mostly cooked during celebration of a holiday, but also during normal day. Burundi's culture is more consisted on being polite, respectful and honest for a person who is old than you, not judging and moral stands. The culture is reflected by Drummers for men played during big ceremonies and traditional dance for women.

L: Goodafternoon!How are you bill today?
B:I am fine!how about you
L:I am doing great too!Thx..Ready for the interview?
B:Yeah!
L:Ok!my first question will be Could you tell me about yourself?
B:My name is Bill M. and i am 22years old.I came in the United states 2years ago, and my major is Finance.
L:Why did you choose to study at St. cloud state university?
B:My friends who were here already told me about St. cloud state university, and i found that it was really cheap compare to other college.
L:What are you planning to do after school?
B:Well! you know most of the time when you are not done yet with school you don't know yet. I am thinking to go back but at the same time i think to make money first and then go back;so i didn't make a decision yet.
L:Can you tell me about activities young people like to do in your country?
B:In Burundi, young people like to spend time at the beach during the weekend with their family and go to church on Sunday. But usually, young people make events for helping poor people or homeless;and i think it is really good idea which became famous.
L:Would you like to tell me about your country?
B:Yeah!Burundi is a country located in East Africa;it is also called "Heart of Africa".We have drummers which is a men traditional dance, and The Lake Tanganyika where a lot of people go to hung out during weekend.
L:What is your traditional food?
B:Cassava Dough is our traditional food, it is made with flour of manioc only and water. We ate that with a sauce made with beans or meat of cons.
L:Could you tell me about your country's traditional process regarding marriage?
B:This is the most big event in our country because there is a lot money which is spent in that.I should say it is still traditional.The marriage is in three part which is "Dote" when the guy go to the girl's house with many presents for the family.The next day is "marriage" which begin with a mess and a reception after.Thrid day is "kutwikurura" which is mostly the two families gettin togethter to the new married's house.
L:What are your country's major religions?
B:The most important religion is Christian,but there is some musilm too.
L:Is there anything you would like to add before we end the interview?
B:Our country is building another future with tourism, and i think we will do great even if this civil war will be never forgotten.
